Settings - Network

This area is used to match the gateway to an existing network.

Gateway and host name

  • Gateway name: The gateway is registered via this name, providing the UPnP service is activated.
  • Host name: The host name is used for network identification. Providing the network supports this function, the gateway is shown on the router under this name.

IP settings

  • DHCP active: If this selection box is marked, the gateway takes its IP address from a DHCP server.
The following entry options are then blocked.
  • IP address: This is used to allocate a fixed IP address to the gateway.
  • Subnet mask: The associated subnet mask is set here.
  • Default gateway: The default gateway is given here.

DNS server

  • Preferred DNS server: IP address of the preferred DNS server.
  • Alternative DNS server: IP address of the alternative DNS server.

The DNS server is needed for correct communication with the Internet.

Settings are saved via the "Accept settings" touchpad.
If entries are not within expected ranges, a warning is given.
